Wellness Dietitian:How To Lose Weight And Still Avoid The Gym

If you want to lose weight, then one thing must occur. You must use up more calories than you take in. There is no other way to do it. One way to achieve this is do undertake a calorie controlled diet. The other way is to increase the calorie burning type exercises that you do. Any exercise is good exercise, but some burn off more calories than others.
The object of this article is to give you the low down on some of the best calorie burning exercises that there are. At the same time, however, I recognise that not everyone can afford to go to a gym. Does this mean that you will miss out on some of the best calorie killing workouts? Not at all. Try some of these on for size.
One of the most popular cardio activities; one that can burn around 400 calories in 30 minutes is step aerobics. Historically, this is the domain of women, who seem to fill most of these type of classes. But, why attend a class? And why miss out on a calorie burning blowout if you are a man? Get a stool at home and start stepping. The height of a stair is adequate.
Running is an excellent cardiovascular exercise, for no other reason that anyone can do it at any time most anywhere. No expense, other than some good quality trainers. I stress good quality because road running on hard surfaces can put stress on your joints which will be compounded by poor footwear. In addition, an average sized person can burn around 200-300 calories in half an hour. If you are up to it, sprinting can burn even more calories!
Brisk walking is a much less strenuous cardiovascular exercise than say running. Walking at a good pace can burn up just under 200 calories in half an hour. If you are unable to run, a good walk is an excellent way to lose weight. If you can add some hills to your walking route, then so much the better, because more calories will be left behind.

Wellness Dietitian:How Subliminal Messages help you to Lose Weight

Ever found yourself looking at the weighing scales and wishing you could lose weight? And yet, you scoff at diet pills and weight loss programs that have not worked for you. This is your conscious mind at work. Your conscious mind tells you that it is not possible to lose those pounds, and that subliminal CDs to lose weight are a hoax. However, this is not true!
All your previous weight loss attempts have failed because your conscious mind has already decided that they will fail. Hence, subliminal CDs provide you with the key to losing weight, by bypassing the conscious mind that forms judgments and negative thoughts. The subconscious mind is uncritical, and accepts the opinions and ideas that you embed into it, helping to dispel these negative thoughts. With the help of subliminal CDs to inject positive affirmations into your subconscious mind, you will be able to lose weight now.
That is not to say that just by listening to a subliminal CD over and over you will lose weight! The magic behind subliminal CDs goes beyond that. The message that the CD sends out to your subconscious consists of a few different but simple principles which you will find yourself practicing slowly as you listen to the CD as per the instructions on the packaging. This is how it works.
1) Confidence
The subliminal CDs will give you the confidence in yourself to lose weight. By going straight to your subconscious, you are able to eliminate the root of the weight loss problem: your conscious mind. The conscious mind tells you that it is impossible and that you will never lose weight, and hence you never lose those pounds.
2) Eat Right, Exercise More
The subliminal CD will encourage you to exercise more, and eat right. You will find yourself more motivated to visit the gym, instead of merely thinking about it. In other words, the subliminal CD contains positive messages that help you transform your ideas into actions. You will feel your subconscious telling you to get busy and cut down on snacking, and to eat right. All these are knowledge that you already have, but just never put into practice!
3) Drink Water
It is important to drink a lot of water when you’re trying to lose weight. Water acts as a natural cleansing and detoxifying routine, as it flushes out the toxics, fats and calories in your body. This is also a part of the magic of the subliminal CD, which encourages you to drink a healthy amount of water everyday.
Before you know it, you will find yourself avoiding snacks and unhealthy food as your body adjusts to take in only the amount of food that is necessary. This is not magic, it is simply the power of your subconscious mind being harnessed to overcome the negative thoughts that your conscious mind produces!

Wellness Dietitian:Lose Weight and Stay Slim For Free

Do slim people annoy you when you watch them eat loads of high calorie food and not put on a pound? Wonder how they manage it? They simply burn calories quicker than the rest of us. But how do they do this; is there a secret to being constantly slim? The answer is that people like this have found the key to getting slim and staying slim without paying a cent. They are life’s energetic people. I’ll give you an example:
You could have two siblings. One cannot keep still. They are constantly running about and burning loads of calories in the process. They cannot even sit and watch TV for long. They have to be doing something. Just watch them. Their feet will be jiggling, they will constantly shift their position, and they will probably jump up at the earliest opportunity to get on with something new.
At the TV interval, it will be this sibling who asks if anyone wants a coffee and will rush off to make it, always in a hurry to get things done.
This person will be slim. They will most likely also be healthy, and well toned. They are using hundreds of extra calories a day and exercising their muscles without even realising it.
The other sibling has to watch their weight and is constantly on a diet to lose the extra pounds they seem to have put on for no apparent reason. This person loves to read. They will curl up for hours on the couch with a good book. If someone (usually the slim sibling) offers to make them a drink they will say thank you… and get on with their reading. If you watch the second sibling, you will notice that they sit real still. They never fidget. They hardly move a muscle. This sibling will tell you they eat a healthy diet. They may tell you they go to the gym once a week and do aerobics exercise three times a week, but what they will not tell you is that for the rest of their time they are almost sedentary. They are not burning enough calories to maintain a slim figure. They are also probably not that healthy, despite the nutritious diet and the carefully planned (and often paid for) exercise. Their life is a constant struggle to get slim and stay slim and they are losing the battle.
Which sibling are you?
If you resemble the first sibling, then you are most likely slim and healthy already and the free exercise tips I am going to post below will be nothing new to you. You will be doing all these things already and probably more besides.
If, however, like many of us, you resemble the second sibling; the one who always struggles to lose weight and keep it off, then these exercise tips may help. They are part of my weight loss program and they are all for free.
First of all, you need to be a fidget. Don’t just sit there at the pc, or watching TV, move! Get up and walk around, stretch a little, change your position quite often. Not only will it prevent you getting stiff joints long before your time, it will get your circulation going and burn up a few extra calories in the process.
Is it the advert break on TV? Get up and make the coffee (in fact, jump up and make it). Be the first to rush to answer the phone, even if you think it might be a salesman. Someone’s got to answer the damn thing. Same as the front doorbell, make sure you are the one to answer it. Who cares if it is someone offering pamphlets, you can always say no thanks. Again, someone has to do it and that someone may as well be you.
The benefits? I don’t think I have to spell it out. You will be using up extra calories, getting your circulation going, exercising your muscles, and keeping slim.
Here are a couple more tricks you can try to lose weight for free:
If you have a kitchen which is organised so that everything is in easy reach, move a few things about. Make it so that you have to walk from the dishwasher to the cupboard to put things away. Store things at a low level so that you have to squat down to reach them. You are burning a few more calories and exercising your legs just from doing everyday things.
If you have stairs, use them. Put things away in cupboards upstairs so that you have to climb the stairs to fetch them. You have your own free stepping exercise right at hand.
Be the one who takes the dog for a walk and run with it when you let it off the lead. The dog will have fun and just think of all those calories you are using up chasing it.
It’s been said many times that driving your car when you could walk is bad for your health and fitness. I don’t think I need to spell out the advantages to having a slimmer more toned figure in walking, but I’ve added this anyway, just in case you forget.
There are many more things you can do to set up a free weight loss program like this. Of course, cutting down on calories and eating sensibly is essential if you want to lose weight, but wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to remain slim after you have achieved your weight loss goal? This free weight loss program will work.
And if you are reading this and saying “I’m much too busy to do these extra things.” Just stop and think for a moment. Would any of these things really use up much more of your time? And if you do them quickly, like all the slim people do, will they really take up any more time at all?
The benefits of being a fidget and moving quickly and making yourself move are really effective as a means of burning up calories and keeping slim and toned. And who knows? Once you get into a program like this you may never have to spend money on gym membership again.
That thought is worth a moment of your time at least.
And if you like this article and want to follow my progress as I lose weight and get toned up, you can check me out at My Free Weight Loss Program, where I will be posting more diet and exercise tips on a regular basis.

Wellness Dietitian:Desperate To Lose Weight Quickly?

If you’ve found this article, it’s probably because you have a very significant event coming up, or some other personal reason for being  desperate to lose weight quickly.  I’ve got good news for you: You can do it, regardless of how daunting or frustrating it may have been for you in the past.
It is easy to get discouraged or give up hope when you have tried a diet or an exercise program and found months later that you haven’t gotten results. The good news is, when you are aware of the mechanics behind gaining and losing weight, you will know that by taking the appropriate steps, there is no longer any need to be desperate; to lose weight (quickly ) becomes the norm instead of the exception, because you will be restoring the natural balance to your diet and exercise patterns. You may not realize it, but it’s because those patterns are out of balance that you started gaining weight to begin with.
Starting with calories, you have to understand a very basic principal. (By the way, calories are just a measurement of energy used by the body, specifically the type of energy absorbed through eating food.) If you take in more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. That’s because unused energy (calories) are stored on the body for future use – as fat. If you eat the same number that you spend, then there is no net gain or loss. And, those magic words we’ve all been eagerly waiting to hear; if you burn more than you take in, you lose weight – & quickly.
Eating a natural, healthy diet is one big way to prevent taking in to many calories. Examples would be sticking with fish and chicken, avoiding beef and other red meat. Increase fresh vegetables. Limit complex carbs (like rice, bread, and potatoes.) Here is a hint: Whe you do eat complex carbs, eat them without meat. This is because the body has a much easier time digesting either carbs or protein by themselves, not in combination. Sound familiar? Think “Atkins” diet.
The key to burning more than we take in is, for most of us, exercise. I say that because the alternative would be to count calories and severely limit the number of calories we consume. Not easy to do for most of us, and not really a natural course of action. What is more natural is to do exercise on a regular basis (and many people do not) since that is what our bodies were designed and/or evolved to do (think hunting and gathering, before fast food and microwaves were invented.)
Recommendations would be to start walking (briskly) around your neighborhood. Slowly build up to a higher intensity, and then you can move on to jogging, cardio kickboxing, yoga, or any number of other cardio based exercise programs. Personally, I work out at the local YMCA, and there is no shortage of classes and equipment to keep fit, and it costs a fraction of a typical gym membership.

Wellness Dietitian:How To Lose Weight And Keep it Off Without Exercising

Many so-called experts will try to convince you that the only way to lose weight is by exercising the fat away. If you could just get off the couch and spend all day every day on a treadmill, you would be in perfect health, they say. Although there is no doubt that there are incredible health benefits from exercise, it is not a necessity for losing weight. They are just trying to sell you a gym membership or their fitness machine.
The people they are leaving out of the equation are those of us who can not exercise due to an injury, severe asthma, or other health challenges. And some people just consider exercise too much of a chore. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise or even breathe heavy, but I found a way to lose 70 pounds 15 years ago and have been medication free ever since. For me there was no other choice.
I’m not talking about some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little supplement. Since nothing like that will ever exist, you have to face the fact that lifestyle changes must be made. These modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight-loss plan (eating less and moving more), and they require daily focus and discipline.
The way I lost weight without exercising was replacing high-fat and high-sugar foods with proper nutrition and targeted vitamins made from all natural ingredients. Fortunately I found a meal replacement shake that gave my body all of the proper nutrition that a huge high-calorie meal gives you, minus the salt, sugar and fat. Proper nutrition and less calories equals weight loss without exercise.
One of the biggest misconceptions that I have encountered since beginning to help people lose weight is that all you have to do is eat vegetables and fruits to get the nutrition you need. Although these foods are a much healthier alternative than low-fat potato chips and cookies, you still have to eat too much of them to get the nutrition of a scientifically formulated protein shake.
Calories are calories no matter what the food source is, and the more you consume, the more you will gain weight. One 200 calorie soy-based protein meal replacement shake, for example, could be packed with all the nutrients found in eating 2,000 calories worth of food.
The human body is complex and requires many different needs for all of your problems to be solved with one little pill. Treating each organ individually so that it functions at its optimum performance is the safest way to achieve an overall wellness of the body. By taking an all-natural product targeted to help me breathe better, I was soon able to get off all of my asthma medications while losing weight.
All-natural products are always safe and can be taken along with medication, but consult with your doctor before starting any kind of diet-modifying program. Be aware though, that many doctors get kick-backs and bonuses based on how much medication they can push onto their patients. If they tell you not to take it but have never tried it themselves, get a second opinion.
The final reason why I was successful at losing weight and keeping it off without exercising was because I made sure my supplement program came with a personal coach to help me. My coach had been where I was and struggled in the same ways to lose weight. Having someone to help me achieve my results is probably the most important thing because my coach’s success was dependent on my success. And that is why I am so successful at helping people lose weight without resorting to the physical strain of exercise. I have been there before and I know what it’s like.
Understand the importance of making healthy choices a new way of life. A person simply cannot commit to a weight loss program with the intention of keeping bad habits. When you begin to lose weight with all-natural supplements, you will probably feel better and will want to exercise, or may feel your body healing in such a way that you are suddenly able to exercise. Although you can lose weight without it, exercise is always beneficial to overall wellness and never a detriment.

Wellness Dietitian:How Can I Have A World Class Body?

Have you ever wondered how you could sculpt your body into the likeness of a Greek Statue? Perhaps you have watched the Olympic Games and wondered how the world class sprinters built such impressive physiques. During a time period where the media idolizes beauty, most of us have probably seen what a world class body looks like. The question is, is a world class body a realistic possibility for the average person? With diligence and discipline, I would say the answer is a resounding “Yes.”
No matter who you are, you probably have an idea of what a beautiful sculpted form the human physique can be. From chiseled abs to elegant, powerful legs; the human body when trained to its maximum can be a sight to behold. The question is, how can the average person build a world class body? Should you buy a gym membership and hit the weights every other day? I believe the answer depends on what your idea of the perfect body is.
If your idea of a world class body is that of a bodybuilder, then obviously you will require heavy resistance training coupled with a high protein diet to get you where you want to go. My opinion about what the perfect body resembles may be different than yours. My idea of the perfect body is one that is as strong as it is agile and functional. Overly huge muscles are not part of the package, but tight abs, broad shoulders, and powerful arms and legs are obvious parts of the package. So how can you turn your body into solid granite?
It has been found that the best way to lose weight and gain strength and muscle is through multiple joint resistance training. This means bicep curls are out, while squats and deadlifts are in. Rope climbing, and interval sprints are also great ways to slim and tone while packing on the muscle. If you want your body to look athletic, the best bet is to train like an athlete! This means you will not only do a structured resistance training program, but you will also include training like sprinting in the morning and rope climbing in the afternoon.
If you are willing to clean up your diet, get plenty of sleep, and change your lifestyle habits; all the while sticking to a training program that would make an Olympian proud, you too can reap the rewards of having a powerfully built, elegant world class body. You can also visit online websites and download kits that can effectively put you in shape. Don’t waste your time drinking those ineffective slimming pills, when in the end will do nothing but putting your health to a risk! Tired of busting your ass in the gym 6 days a week, only to find you’re the same size you were last month? Tired of watching other guys work out half as much and get twice as big? Visit Vince Del Monte Fitness and discover all that you need to know.

Wellness Dietitian:Lose Weight – 5 Tips For Healthy Weight Loss by Sally Zane

It doesn’t have to be a struggle! Sure, there will be a sacrifice, but won’t the results be worth it? I’ve put together my top 5 tips for healthy weight loss that aren’t too difficult to implement. These are 5 relatively simple ways to help you lose weight and keep healthy. Some may seem obvious, but sometimes the simple things have the biggest impact. Remember, it won’t do any good just reading about it. The important thing is to take action, so here we go:
1. Eat Sensibly
Sounds obvious right? I can’t tell you how many people I’ve met over the years who want to lose weight, but continue to eat high-calorie junk food. Unfortunately we’re conditioned through the media and advertising to eat food that may not necessarily be the best choice for us. Just watch your calorie intake and use your common sense when it comes to your dietary choices.
2. Drink Lots Of Water
You should drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Water is probably the single most important component to losing weight and keeping it off. Studies show that a decrease in water intake causes fat deposits to increase, and an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. The kidneys do not function properly without enough water. Water also flushes waste from the body.
3. Choose Good Carbs
Don’t buy into some diets that say you should eliminate carbohydrates. They provide the body with the fuel it needs for physical activity. I lost about 15 lbs simply by cutting out white rice, potatoes, white bread and pasta. In place of these, go with whole grains, vegetables, fruits and beans. If you’re going to have bread, eat a healthy whole grain bread. It will help you lose weight and feel so much healthier.
4. Don’t Skip Breakfast
It’s true. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We need the nutrition and fuel in the morning to help us function throughout the day. Also, if we skip breakfast, we’re more likely to snack mid-morning. Breakfast provides our bodies with vital nutrients such as calcium and iron. If your excuse is that you don’t have time for breakfast, make yourself a healthy nutritious protein shake.
5. Exercise
Do I even need to mention this one? After you bought the gym membership, how many times did you end up actually going? Maybe you’re there on a regular basis and that’s great! But if you aren’t at least walking for half an hour every day, you are doing yourself and your body a great disservice. Commit to a regular exercise schedule and stick to it.
There are obviously more things you can do to lose weight and keep healthy, but these are some of my top recommendations. Here’s to your health!

Wellness Dietitian:Summer Weight Loss-How To Lose Weight For The Summer Months

Summer weight loss is something most people want, as they will be spending more time on the beach, and therefore want to have a well shaped body. If you want to lose weight for the coming summer months, Here are some tips to help you do so.
Keep in mind, the most important tip is to get started now. Most people, when they are looking to start some important activity they know they need to be engaging in, put it off and constantly make excuses.
They tell themselves, I’ll do it when the kids are back in school, I’ll do it when I have more time, when work is less hectic,” etc.
The bottom line is, there is never going to be a perfect time to get started-you just have to act now. Sounds simple, but if you get this tip down for every area of your life, you will be ahead of 95% of the population, who are always waiting for the perfect time to begin something.
Let’s face it, you will always have to work, you will always have extra curricular activities, and your schedule will always be full, so if you really want to lose weight, you just need to commit to doing it now.
Therefore, even if you are reading this at a time when summer is a long way away, don’t wait until summer to get started losing weight. Even if it’s cold outside, join your local gym, or do something that will help you get started now.
You might consider joining summer weight loss camps, as these will help you get on a diet and exercise program that you can keep using all the time.
If it is during the summer, then that’s even better, because you don’t need to pay for any gym membership-just get outside and start walking or jogging. If you find yourself short on time, try working out early in the morning before work, which will give yourself more motivation.
Most people are tired after a long day at work, and the last thing they want to do is get home and exercise, but when you get up early, you don’t have this excuse.
Also, you might consider doing so during your lunch break, as this is a perfect time to break up the monotony of work with some physical exertion (assuming your job doesn’t require much, as most don’t).
Another reason that morning might be better for summer weight loss, however, is that it is the coolest part of the day, always beneficial during the summer. The heat is another excuse most people make for not working out, but you don’t have to use this.
Another tip is to make sure you stat out with a little exercise, and gradually work your way up. Don’t bite off more than you can chew, as they say. Many people try to get started with a workout program they can’t handle, and the end result is they quit very early into it.
Even if you begin just walking twenty minutes a day, that is far better than nothing, and getting started is the most important thing when it comes to summer weight loss.
